Meet Ray Parrott

Ever wondered where Parrott Discount Auto got its name? From Ray Parrott, our owner and founder! Since junior high school, Ray has been a total car junkie. He built models, rebuilt old cars, raced them around open fields, and pursued auto tech classes. To him, cars were a never-ending challenge and he loved learning about what kept them running. After serving in the Air Force, he returned to his automotive passion in 1979. He worked at various dealerships to support his growing family before joining various independent auto repair shop teams. He enjoyed his experiences with Goodyear and Cobra Tire, but in 1995 he decided to start his own business in Mesa, Arizona. After decades of experience in the industry, Ray opened Parrott Discount Auto! Today, Ray still enjoys managing the shop after many successful years. In his free time, you can find him hiking at the Grand Canyon, playing racquetball, riding bikes, practicing his aim at the shooting range, or just enjoying time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Throughout his career in the automotive industry, Ray became tired of the way other auto repair shops conducted business. Instead of providing honest auto care, they encouraged technicians to sell their customers unnecessary services. Ray never felt comfortable with these dishonest, greed-driven practices. That’s why when Parrott Discount Auto opened, he was excited to provide a different kind of experience for his customers. With a wealth of knowledge and passion for helping others, he gave honest counsel to each person that entered our shop. They knew they could trust his advice, as he always provided transparent information and took the time to explain the repairs to drivers. He taught them how to take better care of their vehicles and empowered them with the right options to protect their investments. Today, we still operate with the same mission of providing customized, honest auto repair for our community.
